Life Drawing Workshop

Explore the fascinating world of life drawing and develop your confidence in drawing the human figure in this inspiring, hands-on workshop. Working from a live model provides a wonderful opportunity to observe movement, proportion, structure, light and shade, while developing your own drawing style and creative expression.

Led by teaching artist Charlotte Strawbridge, this workshop takes place in a relaxed, supportive setting with small groups of no more than 10 participants. You’ll be guided through the essential principles of life drawing, including understanding proportions, body orientation and structure, before progressing to creating more developed studies.

Throughout the day, you’ll experiment with a range of drawing materials and techniques, learning how different mediums can create varied marks, tones and textures. You’ll also explore how light and shadow affect the figure and how to translate what you see onto paper with greater accuracy and confidence.

No previous life drawing experience is required, although some general drawing experience is recommended. Whether you are looking to develop your existing skills, try life drawing for the first time or simply spend a creative day drawing from a live model, this workshop offers plenty of opportunity to learn, experiment and enjoy the process.
