Life Drawing workshop with Jacob Gourley, Sat 14 Sept 2024, 10-4pm, £126

Working with a life human model is demanding but very rewarding and satisfying. The life drawing workshop offers structure and helps mastering the principals of this subject with the emphasis to let each student apply their own working and style. This workshop can be booked as a standalone day or as a 2day course – life drawing & life painting, Saturday & Sunday.

You will learn how to get the proportions, orientation and structure of the body right. We will introduce you to the basic principles and the preliminary stages of rendering. We will explain proportional guidelines focusing on the structure of the body, observing the effects of light and shade and the visual challenges it creates. You will work with a variety of drawing mediums.

The course is run in small groups of max 10 and there is plenty of guidance from the teaching artist, Jacob Gourley. Some drawing experience would be recommended.

You will learn:
• how to use drawing mediums
• how to achieve different marks with the different drawing materials
• how to achieve the right shades
